Self-Care Sunday

In honor of the upcoming event, The Ultimate Self-Care Sunday, I will share my personal Sunday routine and how I prepare for the week ahead.

Everyone's self-care day looks different and can feel different. Your self-care day could happen on Saturday vs. Sunday. Your self-care could happen during the evening whereas, mine happens during the day. It's best to know your body, know yourself, know your schedule, and goals to have a successful self-care day. Now, where do you start? Of course, you wake up, brush your teeth (hopefully), wash your face, shower, and eat breakfast. Within that morning routine, you can show yourself some extra love and care. For example, include a face mask, exfoliant, or a steam in your skincare routine. Take yourself out on a date for breakfast, or order in and watch your favorite show. Whatever brings you joy that you typically wouldn't have the time or money to indulge in during the week, do that on your self-care day.

One of my favorite things to do that brings me joy is to plan (not shocking), clean up my space, stretch, shopping, treat myself to good food and have work sessions. Since I also work full-time Monday through Friday, I find it mandatory to squeeze in time to mentally reset.

It's ok to splurge on yourself every now and then. I had to be reminded to enjoy the fruits of my labor. What's the point of working so hard if you're not going to take the time to enjoy your hard work and your choice to keep moving forward. Everyone deserves the experience to love on themselves, reward themselves and to provide the ultimate value to their life's experiences. Whether you go big or small, treat yourself. One of my biggest challenges is taking the time to actually cater to myself. I'm always in the work mindset because at the end of the day, I am a one woman show. However, in order for me to keep operating with dignity, value, confidence and superb quality, I must first pour into myself.

So, for the month of August I will be dedicating my Sundays, Saturdays, or any day that can work with my schedule, to self-care. Specifically targeting a holistic approach to my self-care routine, such as yoga, meditation and even acupuncture. Stay subscribed to learn more about my holistic self-care journey.

Also, hold me accountable. Tell me what other content you would like to see from DJ's EP.
